The Mitr Clinic (Mitr means “friend” in Hindi) was launched in Hyderabad, India in January 2021 to ensure stigma-free health services for transgender populations by the ACCELERATE program, an initiative funded by USAID, led by the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
Providers at the Mitr Clinic are from the transgender community themselves, and work to provide empathetic services centered on the real needs and issues of the community.
