“It is important for our strategic interests in the United States that we have partners around the world that we can work closely with to address new public health priorities,” said Bollinger, who began working with the Fogarty Center in India in 1991 and has had relationships with Fogarty partner institutions in other countries such as Uganda, Ethiopia, and South Africa.
“There are many examples of us relying on these partnerships that are supported by Fogarty that not only help our colleagues address diseases in their own communities, but also which bring that knowledge back to the United States,” said Bollinger.
