In June 2014, five visiting physicians from Byramjee Jeejeebhoy Government Medical College (BJGMC), Pune, India, were delighted to receive brand new laptops from Hewlett Packard (HP) for their training in epidemiology and clinical research. Drs. Geeta Pardeshi (Associate Professor of Preventive Medicine), Aarti Kinikar (Associate Professor of Pediatrics), Anita Basavaraj (Associate Professor of Medicine), Sangita Shelke (Associate Professor of Preventive Medicine) and Suniti Girish (Associate Professor of Biochemistry) are recipients of the JHU-BJGMC TB-HIV Fogarty fellowship and work on the front lines of the HIV and TB epidemics in India. The laptops will be invaluable as the team strives to improve safety and quality care in the workplace and collaborates with CCGHE to establish a study of health care workers to assess their risks for acquiring TB.

The laptops are part of a larger $63,000 computer equipment donation from HP to support the Indo-US research initiative. Donated Laptops and HP Slate Pro tablets will be used by field and research staff within our Indo-US research and education program.
