This broadcast reviews diagnostic challenges clinicians faced when a 60-year old Norwegian shipworker living in Thailand for more than 20 years presented with fever and respiratory distress with hypoxia (4L NC). He was admitted to the ICU. CT scan revealed alveolar infiltrates c/w edema vs. ARDS, and chest Xray showed bilateral opacities c/w pneumonia vs. edema.
