Shahanara joined the team as a Study Co-ordinator on the TB Aftermath study at Pune, India in January 2023. She will be assisting the PI and site co-ordinator in carrying out protocol related activities and monitoring based at the Dr. D. Y Patil University site.

She is a clinician with a background of working in reproductive health before setting out to work in the domain of public health research. She has worked with institutes like the ICMR- National Institute for Research in Reproductive and Child Health and National AIDS Research Institute in Pune as a clinical scientist, on various projects, involving clinical trials as well as M&E roles. More recently she worked with the World Health Organisation (WHO) as a Cardiovascular Health Officer (CVHO) responsible for supportive supervision, intersectoral coordination and aiding in district and state level co-ordination for NCD’s.

Shahanara received her MBBS from the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, Karnataka and an MPH from the Department of health Sciences, Savitribai Phule Pune University.
