Sandeep is the Program Coordinator at the Johns Hopkins Center for Infectious Diseases (CIDI) in Pune, India. His key role is to effectively manage and track multi-country clinical trials across multi-disciplinary teams. He supports the CIDI’s Pune-based leadership team and coordinates with the CIDI’s U.S. team in managing activities across a large portfolio of infectious disease studies.  

Sandeep has a total twelve years of experience in program management. Also, he has a very good understanding of public health research and hands-on experience in grants life cycle management and impact evaluation.

Sandeep joined the team in 2023. Prior to Johns Hopkins, Sandeep has worked with the Tata Trusts, India’s oldest and largest philanthropy organization, for nine years. During this period, he has conceptualised, led and monitored several collaborative public health initiatives spanning across remote parts of various states in India. He has worked across various themes which include - primary health care, communicable diseases, mental health, disability, nutrition, palliative care, maternal and child health. He has implemented community-based health promotion programs and operationalised mobile medical units in villages of eastern Uttar Pradesh. During COVID times, he has played an instrumental role in augmenting capacity of oxygen plants, isolation centres and ICUs across public facilities in collaboration with CSRs in various parts of North India and North-east India.   

Sandeep holds a master’s degree in Public Health Administration from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, India.
