This study seeks to identify risk factors associated with unfavourable treatment outcomes (death, treatment failure, default, XDR-TB) among multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) patients under public sector Directly Observed Treatment Short-course (DOTS) Plus in Pune, India.



Objectives



  1. To evaluate the treatment outcomes and determine the risk factors associated with unfavourable outcomes (death, treatment failure, default, XDR-TB) among MDR-TB patients under DOTS-Plus regime, Revised National Tuberculosis Control Programme

  2. To compare MDR-TB treatment outcomes for individuals with and without HIV



 



Study Design

Utilizing routinely-collected RNTCP treatment data from Aundh Chest Hospital for the period February 2012 to February 2014, the present study will create a retrospective cohort of microbiologically confirmed MDR-TB patients on public sector DOTS-Plus treatment in Pune,
