Risk Factors for Unfavourable Treatment Outcomes among Multidrug-Resistant Tuberculosis Patients in Public Sector Treatment in Pune

This study is funded and conducted under the U.S. National Institutes of Health, Fogarty International Center. 

This study seeks to identify risk factors associated with unfavourable treatment outcomes (death, treatment failure, default, XDR-TB) among multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) patients under public sector Directly Observed Treatment Short-course (DOTS) Plus in Pune, India.

Objectives

1. 
   To evaluate the treatment outcomes and determine the risk factors associated with unfavourable outcomes (death, treatment failure, default, XDR-TB) among MDR-TB patients under DOTS-Plus regime, Revised National Tuberculosis Control Programme
2. 
   To compare MDR-TB treatment outcomes for individuals with and without HIV
